Description

hand stitched sleeveless dress beige bodice , gathered skirt of manufactured cotton like fabric with deep pink and yellow stripes, back closed at neck and waist with hooks and eyes, green stitching around neckline
would have been worn over a blouse or underdress and with apron and vest
discolored or dirty, few small stains, a few slubs in the skirt;given to donor by her sister Katrina. Dress was likely worn by her father's sister Anna Ioannides in Pera Petra, Cyprus in early 1940's. Susannah's father, Louis Ioannide,s arranged a marriage for Anna to a wealth Chicago widower. A vest that may have been part of the costume still kept by Katrina
