Description
73 x 56 cm 28 ¾" x 23 ½" hand woven cotton ecru with red, blue, pink, and metallic threads. Self fringe 4 cm 1" on one end, gathered with blue and white strings other end. Pocket 11 x 13 cm top 7 cm bottom 4 ¼" x 5" top 2" bottom hand stitched on right upper area.small label" Greek apron (peasants) 2 encircled attached with safety pin, small label "Dorita E.Grant" removed, small label calling card "Mr. and Mrs. T.B. Macaulay" overside "Greek peasant's apron" removed;collected in Greece between 1910 and 1927 by Mary Ellen Palin "Nellie" while she was English Governess to Lavria Averof donated by her niece Dorita E. grant ;displayed on mannequin with black wool vest 001 and belt 366
