Description
30 x 54 cm 12" x 21 ½" orange cotton warp, woof alternates cream stripes with yellow, black and white ½ cm 1/4" rolled ropes, 10 x 4 cm 4" x 1 ½" pieces of the same fabrics are threaded under 2 adjacent warp threads and left untied to create a rough surface. Appears that originally red warp bled into white cotton resulting in orange warp and pink "feet";woven by Christina Xenos Tomaschuk in 1986 at a Greek weaving workshop in an old schoolhouse in Leonidio near Navplion. teacher was Katerina Kalamitsi
