Description
99 x 70 x 10 cm widest spar 28 cm 39" x 27 ½" x 4" widest spar 11 cm 4 1/4" hand carved model ship with 4 masts, bowsprit, stern sprit and stand, 4 small boats 2 on stand, 2 loose stand missing.
The Chungranes family contends that Nikolas Kapiotis AKA George Vien(n)a and known to the family as George Koypoi Vienna made this model while aboard ship on his way to Fort Victoria. It has remained in the family ever since and the story says it was sailed on the boat pond in Beacon Hill Park by Kapiotis' grandson.;displayed in plexiglass top case originally from Maritime Museum of Victoria
cleaned and repaired by James Tirrul-Jones April 2019, supports for 2 loose boats made
