Description
39 x 33 cm 15 1/4 x 13" frame 3cm 1 1/4" wide, needle work icon with pasted on faces, hands and child's feet, appears to be hand done with very fine thread wrapped and padded like trapunto, edges decorated with colored thread and sequins, stars and beads, frame is gold and blue painted with small spots of loss of paint on the corners- back is finished with some small tears in the paper so closer examination not possible;Wedding present to John and Didi Nicas from a catholic priest friend in Banff. The style is Catholic rather than Orthodox. The figures are very finely done and do not match the surround which looks more amateurish.
